Net Zero Energy, the developer of Rathrush Green Energy Park (RGEP), has thanked the large number of visitors to its recent public information day in Rathoe village.

More than 200 people, predominantly local to the area, attended the event on August 12th last, where a wide range of detail on the project was made available with specialists on hand to respond to all questions.

The seven hour event focused on specific areas including site location, the planning process, proposed construction, visual representations of how the power plant would look once built, plant operation as well as management of water and air dispersion modelling while also highlighting comparable operational sites in the UK and elsewhere.

“We were particularly encouraged at the footfall - the hall was extremely busy for the entire duration of the event. We provided visual representations of how RGEP might look on the landscape from 17 different local vantage points as well as a host of more technical information.

“We appreciate that there were many unknowns ahead of this event and the obligation fell upon us to explain our thinking, the technology, engineering and the significant economic benefits which this facility could provide to the region,” said NZE CEO, Peter Harte.

The community liaison team for Rathrush Green Energy Park continues to engage with individuals and groups interested in discussing the project. Since launching the project, the community liaison team has engaged with more than 150 residents and stakeholders through meetings, phone calls, emails and public enquiries.
